By JAR

To be a winner in poker tournaments, there are two elements that can be key in your game, and they can help you to gain experience in an important event such as a poker tournament.

These two keys to success are factors known by many players, but it is important to always take them into account in poker: the sense of survival and aggressive domination.

Often poker players worry about trying to decipher all the game strategies, and plan every move to reach the tournament with a plan, sometimes think in the amount of money to they want to win, or how many chips should be after the first two levels of play, and even they have the question whether it is best to start with few or many hands. All these thoughts are not wrong, however players focus a lot on both these points, and they simply forget, that the main mission in the early stages of tournament poker is to survive

To become a good poker player and play skillfully in a tournament, we must first stop thinking how to adjust our game to the tournament and concentrate on adjusting it against to the opponents. This is because, if you're a good poker player focused and calm, you can play better in a tournament and you'll have more experience and knowledge of the great variety of opponents out there, and a variety of styles that can be.

When a player learns from his opponents and the different styles of games that have other players, they gain experience, and with this experience increase and improve his playing skills. By achieving this, the player will progress in the game of open tables, and tournaments alike, so can start avoiding costly mistakes.

It's important to know that you can not win a tournament in the first rounds however, you can be eliminated on it, if you do not pay attention that's why it's important to have a basic knowledge of the different styles of play, and to be attentive and prepared to defeat your opponents.

In most tournaments the first stages allow more play for large wagers. You will begin with a lot of chips and the blinds are generally small in comparison.

Its important to note that at the beginning of the tournament there is no strong pressure to play, so that's when you have more opportunities to gamble. However, it is not appropriate to risk all your chips at this stage, and less in marginal situations. If you have a decent hand but not too strong it is not advisable to take risks, instead of it change your way of playing from aggressive mode to a survival mode.
