A hard hand is a hand when the two initial cards lack containing an Ace.

The idea behind this is that a player should always hit when he is having a count of eight or less than that. This strategy in the blackjack gaming encourages the player in obtaining a higher number in the game. If the number count with the dealer is between three and six, on the other hand there is nine with the player, then the next step of the player should be to double it, otherwise move to hit. If the point of the players lies between seventeen and twenty one, the strategy suggests him to stand. As, the hard hands comprise of the hand that do not contain an Ace. Hence, if you play such a hand employing correct gaming strategy in blackjack, you will become successful to reduce the house edge to most extent. As per the basic rules of this strategy, the hand to play comprises an average difficulty level in a game that can run for an hour or less.

Here follows below some important steps as to how you can proceed in the blackjack game with playing a hard hand. First of all, you should look at the up card of the dealer following with looking at your two cards. Always go to hit if you are having a count of eight or less. If you are having a count of nine and dealer has between three and six, then you should either double or hit. Similarly, when you have a count of ten and the dealer has between two and nine, then again you should always either hit or double. However, suppose if you are having a count of eleven, then you should pay attention to check two conditions. You can go for a double if the dealer has between two and ten and go for a hit if he has an Ace.

Similarly, if you are having a count of twelve, you should hit if the dealer has between two and three, stand if he has between four and six, otherwise, you should hit. On the other hand, if you are having a count between thirteen and sixteen, you can either hit or stand if the dealer has between two and six. Finally, it is always better to stand if you are having a count between thirteen and sixteen.
